Ingredients
1 1/2 cupsunsweetened milk of choice
2teaspoonsmaple syrup{or sub with any liquid sweetener of your choice}
1tablespoonbeetroot powder
1teaspooncinnamon
1 teaspooncardamom
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine the maple syrup, beetroot powder, and spices.
Add a little bit of the milk to the bowl and stir it until it becomes a paste.
Add the paste to a small saucepan and then stir in the remaining milk. Heat over medium high for a few minutes.
Notes
Beetroot powder tastes just like beets, earthy and a little bit sweet. It's just finely ground, dehydrated beets. I used store bought powder, but if you're a keener you can find recipes to make your own.
Make sure you get any lumps out of the beetroot powder before you blend it with the other spices.
This is also delicious cold!
If you can only find sweetened milk, I'd make the recipe first without the maple syrup and add before drinking if you think you need it.
